I came across this at the Global Petroleum Show of all places.

It's not really a must have with the Hummer given the built in recovery points, but I can see it ending up on the back of a lot of pick-ups. It was definitely drawing a lot of attention from oil and gas service companies.

Warn has made these for years.

I can't picture a chunk of aluminum to be stronger than a chunk of steel, and certainly not cheaper.

I think TC has a WARN one on his truck...

The Warn is definately a less expesive option. The big selling feature here was that these ones are intended for the dynamic loading typical in vehicle recovery. The Warn versions are marketted for towing or winching and state that they shouldn't be used where side or shock loading may occur. While I'm sure they work 99 times out of 100 or better, it's a big non-starter for the oil companies when it comes to liability.



They've got more than their fair share of poor drivers.

Ive got one of these on both my H1 and my '76 K5 that are made by TowReady/Draw-tite/Reese (part no: 63046) and carry atleast a spare one in my recovery kit for trucks that only have a ball hitch or other such style hitch receiver, as I feel a LOT more confident tugging someone out with one of these on both ends, than a 3ball hitch, or poor/improper tow/hitch/recovery points, but I think the price of the Ditch Hitch is a little excessive, and thats coming from an H1 owner! hahahaha
