Just because I drive a HUMMER don't mean I don't care about the planet.... in fact it means I can get to most parts without any help!
(try that in your prius)

Ive seen many of those rally when I was in Germany,84-89, seen Paris-Dakar and few other as they are very popular in Europe. Dresden - Breslau started only around 1996, Many of the big truck seen in this video were doing the Paris-Dakar rally back then, its amazing to see those monster in a rally. The Dresden - Breslau is a bit different in the way that its for everyone that has a 4x4 that wants to participate, the requirement are minimal, rope, extinguisher, helmet. You are allowed to repair on the road , as Paris Dakar its mainly in desert for one, you really need sponsor to participate, and a lot of $$$$$$ and its more an orientation rally as you are only equipped with a compass and map, as Dresden - Breslau you are allowed GPS.

Never the less,, Dresden - Breslau,, sound like lots of fun, have you seen the mud 5 feet deep, the river crossing , they have lost a few vehicle in them hahahahaha,, H's would certainly feel at home there,, <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... ght_on.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':right_on:' /> <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... ght_on.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':right_on:' /> <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... ght_on.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':right_on:' />

Thanks Polar Bear! Now because of you I am OBSESSED!!! <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... adbang.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':headbang:' /> I saw your post back in early Novemeber and since then I've watched a ton of Breslau videos and been in touch with 4 people from the Rallye itself...they even sent me a package in the mail for free with a great DVD and Pressbook!

But's it's all good....I've found a way to keep my costs way down <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... ght_on.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':right_on:' />

I own a Chironex Komodo 1000 side x side now, and that's what will be at this Rallye in June and again in September!! They've created a kind of “Breslau series”, so now have two rallies: First is in the end of June in Poland and Germany (call it “the big Breslau”) - The second is at the end of September in Bulgaria and Romania (Balkan Breslau). Also this year, they separated the car category (side x side is in this category too) in two classes – Extreme and CrossCountry. Extreme class is the traditional for Breslau with long stages, which combine off-road tracks, sands and swamps with lots of winching and really heavy offroad. Cross country is a “Dakar” or “Baja” style race, with sandy tracks, not so big extremes and tricky navigation, combined with speed.

I still haven't decided which class to register in...so I think I'll take Xtreme in the first one and XC in Sept...

Anyways, I have spoken to Chironex and they are very interested in sponsoring me! I am working with a finance company now and will have them co-sponsor...and my brother will be co-piloting for me. I have never done anything like this and have been doing as much research as possible, so if anyone has any advice, stories, or resources they can share with me I'd be very grateful!
