Yeah it shouldn't be too bad. Usually you can just disconnect them and wiggle them out, the worst part is really getting the belts on and off

Oh no! Napa sold me the wrong one!! But I got a sneaky trick for the belt... even though that really is the worst part!! But holy crap that alternator is jammed in there good... I'll try everyone's suggestions but my gut tells me maybe dealer only

Bowness knows their stuff as they've been around forever.... call them and order it in... bring yours in and I can even meet you there for another opinion if you like as theirs are remanufactured so should fit like a cond...... "glove"

My little back-up camera is $799 there so I'd hate to see what a alternator would be....

Good call Dave, I actually got that one coming into town for me tonight so I don't have to actually stop at Bowness.. But I'll remember to check if it's the correct fit before buying it this time...

The one from Napa was also a reman so I am scratching my head wondering how it was the wrong unit, but oh well!

Also ordered up some xenon headlights today so there's my incentive to get this finished!

Did you bring yours into Bowness and make sure it matched up first?

I did check it, but not 'thoroughly'... d'oh! I bolted up but the little electrical connector didn't match...

Really??? And that was the one they ordered from the book??? I wonder if you have to get the one for the Canyon?... Possible..

They will take it back so return it - don't keep or resell it...

Oh absolutely they're both going back... Should have a good deal on a factory Delco on Monday... I dunno what happens in the reman process but all I can think is the wrong little connector was applied? The Napa one was obviously just the wrong part but this second one is like -->this<-- close to the original. And now I see my dream H2 for sale in Calgary! White low-mile 2006 H2, no modifications, black interior and sunroof... Drrooooolllll................................
