Update: Losing coolant/ Warranty

Post by combanx »

Well, brought my 2006 Hummer H2 to Roy Foss yesterday.

Outcome........ I must admit the new service manager at Foss is nothing short of TERRIFIC....

I usually would not say that about Foss, however whatever changes they have done is great. The truck warranty has expired on June 20 2010. It also has 80K on it. Foss took the truck and are repairing the majority of the issues out of there pocket I THINK!!!

They gave me a rental car N/C..Replaced both exhaust manifold which are still covered under emmissions ..fixing front diff leak..however they say they tested the pressure in the cooloing system and it is holding pressure. This is strange. I find even when I drive the truck and it is at running temp, the expansion tank can be opened and there is no backpressure??? I do not understand why. There has to be a leak. Coolant was going somewhere. I drove it about 80 kilometers and now all of a sudden it does not appear to lose coolant WIERD. Foss said they would check it again but cannot find an issue. They did also say they found a small leak on the hoses that run to the engine oil coolant rad. They will replace these hoses. Any ideas about engine coolant, I am still concerned.

Also does anybody know what a complete brake job would cost, including rotors, front and back, and pads front and back. They said to replace just the pads with OEM ones it was about 1100.00 taxes in. Sounds sort of high. To replace rotors and pads and service clipers about 3800.00 sounds really expensive. Will update when I get the truck back. I do have to say maybe they are doing alot of free work just to charge more on the brakes. But they are very helpfull with out of warranty items about 5K worth.
