Remote control for the DVD player not working, please help

Hi, I have an 08 H2 with the rear overhead entertainment video screen.


The problem is the remote, it doesn't seem to work, and I have already install a new battery.


I disconnected the negative post from my battery during winter season in order to avoid draining my battery.


Since I disconnected my battery,is it possible that the remote lost its connection with the overhead video screen ?


I heard that it is possible that the remote has to learn the new codes, can anybody show me how can you set up the remote so that it can learn the new codes ?

Is the remote Infrared or RF?  If it is Infrared then to verify it is working, simply point it at a digital camera, you should see the LED flickering on your camera's screen. The human eye can not see infrared, but a camera can. this will eliminate the possibility the remote has failed, and let you focus on other potential causes. You can use your cellphone camera to do this if you don't have another camera handy.
