Passlock System Random No Start

Hope you are all doing well...


I have a 2007 H3 and I'm having problems with random "no start" condition I believe (from Google searches) is being caused by the Hummer Passlock system not recognizing my key. If I leave the vehicle for 10 minutes and try again, it starts and runs fine. From what I have read this may be caused by a worn ignition switch lock cylinder.


Anyone else experiencing this problem and any advice on how to troubleshoot/fix?

It happened to me before a few times with my old rig . I would say its common for people to have a encounter with "interruptions" . Not as common for full failure though .  Like you said there is a bunch of stuff on the net for problem solving . So stay calm and Hummer on .

My 06 did this every now and again.  Would have a couple days where it seems to like to activate the Passlock for now apparent reason.  Checked my negative battery cable and found it was a touch loose and it seems to have cleared up. Fingers crossed!!

I have started locking it manually with the door switch which doesn't activate the Passlock and haven't had an issue since.


If you lock it with the remote fob it activates the Passlock system and if for whatever reason it doesn't recognize your key, the Passlock will shut off fuel to the engine.


I'll keep trying this and let you know if it happens again....
