I'm having a low oil pressure issue with the H2 2008 with 86,000 km on the engine.
On the gauge the 12:00 position is 275, there is a 3/4 between 275 and 550, and a 1/4 position between 0 and 275.
As soon as the engine starts, it reads almost 3/4, then after the engine warms up, about 5 min, It's right at the 12:00 position @ idle. (Where I think it should be)
When I drive it around for about 10 and at a stop light idling, it reads almost down to the 1/4 position.
As soon as the engine revs up, it goes back to the 275 mark.
I did an oil change 2 days ago using 5w 30 Royal Purple synthetic oil.Things just got worst with this oil. The needle is now below the 1/4 position @ idle.
I'm just wondering if anyone else with a 08 or 09 can tell me what their oil pressure gauge reads?
Is this normal with the H2 2008's ?
Thanks

Re: 2008 Oil pressure issue
I have the exact same reading on the oil pressure gauge on my 08 H2 since i got it on 2008. I'm using Mobil 1 Synthetic with AC Delco Duraguard PF48 oil filter and i never had any issues with it.
As per owner's manual:
<div>Oil Pressure Gage</div>
<div>The oil pressure gage shows the engine oil pressure</div>
<div>in psi (pounds per square inch) when the engine</div>
<div>is running. Canadian vehicles indicate pressure</div>
<div>in kPa (kilopascals).</div>
<div> </div>
<div>Oil pressure may vary with engine speed, outside</div>
<div>temperature and oil viscosity, but readings above the</div>
<div>low pressure zone indicate the normal operating range.</div>
<div>When the oil pressure reaches the low pressure zone,</div>
<div>the OIL PRESSURE LOW STOP ENGINE message</div>
<div>will appear in the Driver Information Center (DIC).</div>
<div>See DIC Warnings and Messages on page 3-56 and</div>
<div>Engine Oil on page 5-13 for more information.</div>
<div>A reading in the low pressure zone may be caused by a</div>
<div>dangerously low oil level or some other problem causing</div>
<div>low oil pressure. Check your oil as soon as possible.</div>
<div> </div>
<div>CAUTION:</div>
<div>Do not keep driving if the oil pressure is low.</div>
<div>If you do, your engine can become so hot that</div>
<div>it catches fire. You or others could be burned.</div>
<div>Check your oil as soon as possible and have</div>
<div>your vehicle serviced.</div>
<div>Notice: Lack of proper engine oil maintenance may</div>
<div>damage the engine. The repairs would not be covered</div>
<div>by your warranty. Always follow the maintenance</div>
<div>schedule in this manual for changing engine oil.</div>
<div> </div>
<div>Hope these help!</div>
