Need advice about two piece steel wheels.

Post by Kapman »

I made up some alignment washers for my 12 bolt rims last night and I am having second thoughts on weather to use them or not. I'm a bit of a perfectionist and made them to very precise tolerances. I'm worried that they will cause too much stress on the bolts. All the wheel components still side together nicely (no forcing them during assembly).

Just looking for input from other knolagable individuals.

Well, I can still see the lathe marks so I think you need to run another pass on the lathe....Just Joking!!!

They look great!

OEM are just pressed out, yes they are close but not prefect. I have them in stock but they are pricey. Your design will be less costly than buying OEM.
Cut back on the lead in chamfer, and rough bore for the bolt, do not need it too tight as there should be say 15-20 thou clearance.
