Hummer H2 rear exterior door handle replacement

Hello, everybody!
I would like to replace my broken rear exterior door handle on My 2003H2. Is anybody knows how to do this replacement? I think it's not so easy to do it by myself.

It is not a hard job.Once you get the window trim off,a couple bolts and the door panel comes off. Locate the 6 bolts and remove them.Some electrical plugs and a linkage.
I would do it in a heated garage so the plastic does not break. Most of the trim is held on with clips.
I did this on the H2 I owned not too long ago. The only difference is that I put in a few extra bolts so the handle assemble would stay when I get a little tougher with it.

I replaced a full new rear pocket and used this instruction below I found online.

1) Remove rear interior lift gate assist strap screw, bolts for the 2 interior lift gate hooks, and the 2 retainer screws at bottom of the abs interior lift gate panel trim.


2) Remove the abs interior lift gate panel trim carefully with a padded wedge to pop out the retaining clips from the interior lift gate body frame.


3) Remove the license pocket with a socket wrench the 6 cap nuts that attach it to the lift gate body frame. Then carefully pry the license pocket away with fingertips as the remaining connections are 4 retaining clips attaching it to the lift gate body frame.


4) Remove the 2 license pocket lamp connections from the lamp sockets, then carefully extend the license pocket away from the opening of the body frame that is now there so that you can disconnect the latch control assy cable.


5) Remove the latch contol assy cable by extending the latch in the open position and popping out the cable end away from latch.


6) Replace all in reverse order.

I don't like to break something. When you don't have previous experience it could happened! I try to find any video instruction how to change rear left handle, but couldn't find it.

You can always ask another H2 owner to help you out one day. Post asking for some help in your area.
I do work shops a couple times per year here, and I try to teach owners how to fix their own trucks. Just in case something happens in the off roading that we do.

Now off hand, where you refering to the side door or the rear hatch door?? I replied as the rear hatch handle, it breaks easily

Sorry, guys, I meant rear left outside chrome door handle. I wasn't exact when explained You. Any ideas how to replace rear door outside left chrome handle?
