Oversized tires

If putting on 37-12.5-17 mtr Kevlar tires on an H2. Would you have any negative side effects like messing up ABS or messing up your tranny shift points .I know this would go for all 37-12.5 tires and I know the speedo will be off by about 5kmph.Also the H2 does not have tire pressure monitors to worry about like the H3.

No TP monitors to worry about and no issues with ABS or Tranny, just be sure to disconnect your battery, both pos and neg and then touch them together to reset the pcm and then go for a long drive, the computer will relearn with the new tires! Not perfect but better than nothing, the ideal would be a reflash of the PCM!

Thanks for that info Kev.  So after disconnect you just touch the pos and neg cables together for what, a couple seconds? Will the computer try and relearn speedometer as well?    Thanks.  Doug

Kevin:  I just put 35" BF Goodrich All Terrains on my H3 so would it b e necessary to reset the PCM like in the H2 or would the H3 setup even be the same.

Also, does anybody know roughly what the tolerances are for an H3 when it comes to offset VS tire widths? Maybe also how much negitive offset can you run on a rim while still keeping the tire under the fender (with tire widths)

It will be the same but onething I have noticed is that the TPMS gets cranky and will send false alarms of low TP when the pressures are fine. But overall the same procedure with the battery should eliminate most problems with the computer. To have no problems you would need to reflash your PCM with the new tire size to make the TPMS happy!

From experience, the stock rims, with the stock offset, with 35x12.50 tires will just clear the edge of the fenders, any different offset than stock will put the tires way out and require a lift to prevent rubbing on the rear of the front fenders while turning. The 35x12.50 will fit nicely into the wheelwell on all H3s with a torsion bar lift with little to no rubbing, unless the tire has sidebiters!
