Hummer H3 Recall

Post by JL »

Apparently there have been some complaints about the decorative hood louver on the H3 just flying right off!

They'll give you an extra glob of glue to keep that sucker on there...........

I found this article:

I don't get recalling over 300,000 trucks because of less than 5 documented cases of the louvre flying off <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... ey-013.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':wtf:' />

The "fix" is more retarded than the problem... they intend to permanently glue it in place <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... ngHead.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':banghead:' />

You can actually remove it now if you are waxing or washing, it is held in place with a couple of clips.

There are really more than "5" cases of failures. Actually listed on the old Hummer club site the fact that this piece has flown off several times and even came off in a car wash. Worst case was on a highway striking the windshield and other traffic. I advised that one should check the mounting when washing the truck. Nice that GM finially recognizes the problem.

Haha! I dunno there T.C.... At least my recall won't get me killed! I think all Toyota recalls have mandatory risk of serious harm or death........ I know it's not 'funny', but imagining bits and pieces flying off as I drive down the highway does make me laugh a bit!

Ok it's the plastic lugs that break off in most cases most dangerous break was a flip up blocking drivers vision. good fix would be adding bolt on fake handles that would bolt thru grill and hood.

Always check everything external wheel nuts , antennas , rear spare ,tire pressures and so on it only takes one monment to check much less than the time to recover or replace parts.
