I don't honestly know if they can track it but, I have to say I'd be completely amazed if they couldn't tell. In this modern era of computers where everything is tracked and logged when things change, especially considering it effects warranty, I'd be dumbfounded if the computer didn't make a note of changes to its programming. Maybe you can set the programming back to stock, but to me that does not mean the changes haven't been taken note of.

It's not a risk I'd be taking if I wanted to keep my warranty! It's a mystery though... Like a lot of things in life, it probably all depends on the person looking.

The real question still remains though which is why the frick does no one support the 5cyl H3?!?!? I'd buy a hand held programmer tomorrow if I could properly calibrate the speedo with it.

Exactly!! You can find them for the V8 but apparently not the 5 cyl... Which is amazing considering all the Colorados and Canyons on the road which I imagine must be damn near 100% the same thing to tune.

But! If it turns out that the link you posted will work on our vehicles I'll certainly chip in!

I didn't think they were, you plug in through the OBD2 port and using the actual vehicle programming code it gives you full read/write access to the perameters and any event logging. Practically the same system setup that GM would use.

I know BMW recently put some anti-modifying software that tracks everything into the 1 & 3 series for 2009, but people were adding 100hp and 100ft/lbs of torque using devices like JB4 by jacking up the boost. I can't see GM getting upset enough about changing a few parameters to add sophisticated software like that to a discontinued line.

Actually there are even a few dealerships in the US that offer thier own version of the PCM tune.

I will ask around about it a bit more
