Done My Backyard (Almost)

Post by Sugarphreak »

Has been about 1 year... staring at this empty hole filled void that pools water in my backyard.

Looked like this, only worse without the snow! I actually found a half buried lawn mower, 2 rusty bikes and tons of siding back there too... among other garbage.

Oh.. and this, was my deck.

Flash Forward to today!

Hard to explain how much has been done, but lets just say the entire backyard was re-graded and started over from scratch.... so much work!

I put it in on Friday... was kind of cloudy and it rained lightly a couple times, but only for maybe 10 minute. For the most part it was ok, was long hard work for sure.

The Sod was soaking wet from the previous day though, had to weight at least 40lbs per roll. My quads are still sore today from lifting so much.

I did all of the deck design myself; the pergola, picture frame deck layout, stair design, plant hangers, railing design.. ect. A lot went into getting the perfect shape and design to match the yard. But I did take a shortcut and I had a contractor come in and build it for me. He was telling me that after he showed a few other clients my pergola design drawings they wanted one too, lol. Designing is kind of my thing <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... rgreen.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

I actually had the deck completely built while my wife was away and surprised her with it!

As for the trees, garden wall and sod my wife helped out a lot!
