I imported my M998 into Canada with no issues at all. I purchased mine out of San Diego Ca. from a private individual. It was very painless and very easy. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to call me anytime my cell is 250-552-8807.

Cheers, Bob

If you have the info on the truck--vin,yr... then call the RIV office to see if this vehicle is allowed into Canada. It's this easy. Then if all okay, have the ownership and sales paper sent to the border office 3 day ahead of the import date.

Roy, correct me if I am wrong but Humvees and M998s don't come with a VIN, they have a production number that is only 8 numbers long..I believe, and I am not sure what the process would be to get a VIN produced for it if the Truck was never on the road prior, doesn't matter in the US or Canada..

Had your truck been licensed in the US when you bought it? and did it already have a VIN attached to it?

First of all if the vehicle is 15 yrs old or older then you do not have to go through the RIV The RIV is only required on vehicles which are newer than 15 yrs.

My M998 was registered in Ca. but still had the original USMC VIN #. Here in BC, ICBC was going to make me change the VIN # to the 14 or 15 digit # that they require, however, I was able to keep the original VIN# as a friend of mine at the local insurance company called in a favor for me.

As posted earlier please feel free to contact me anytime and I will be more than happy to assist you in any way I can.

Cheers
