Another bizarre thing is that most people who ask, really have no idea what their own vehicles get for economy. On holidays this Summer driving through BC I averaged an honest 15.7 mpg on the highway over several hundred KM in the H2, which clearly is not awesome fuel economy, but on par with most other large vehicles trucks and SUVs both!
Also it amazes me that the H2 is marginally BETTER on gas than my old 5cyl H3 with 35"s. A good tank with the H3 I was getting close to 12mpg (burning about 20L/100km, give or take a bit in either direction) and with the H2 I have literally never hit 20L/100km in normal driving. After a day on the trails is a different story of course, but around town with about 75% city driving to a tank - looking at 13-14mpg average economy for the tank. I am also running a 35" and not a 37" like most so might see a little better economy due to that...
I have to laugh when someone thinks their pickup actually gets 20mpg... regardless of what the window sticker said when you bought it, do the math dude I guarantee it does not!! 15mpg average for your typical half ton with a V8... and I'll bet a tank of gas on that!!

Re: how far does it go
Thanks for the feedback, like boarral said after driving a h3 5 cyl for a service truck i was spending $1200 a month on gas it was lousy, and kinda didn't care i loved it and when i get my h1 its not gonna be a daily driver its gonna be a hobby like someone has a corvette or speed boat or harley wich all consume probably as much gas as the h1.we all work hard to drive and own these,i have a friend that likes to drink $100 bottles of wine thats his thing me i wanna put $100 in gas a drive an h1,even winning the lottery i wouldn't buy a ferrari 1 still would buy an h1,actually i would buy 2 one to mud and the other to tow it to mud pits
cheers

Everyone asks me about the mileage, and I tell them "Look, it gets better mileage than my '76 K5 Blazer on 37's with a factory 400, nor did I expect to buy a prius. All I know, and all that matters is still to this day, when I pull into the gas station Im still smiling, and cant see that changing any time soon. I love this truck, and it truly is like nothing else"

I think you summed it up nicely there, we all have our thing! I don't mind putting $100 into the tank so I can drive, that's my hobby and that's what I love! People are always amazed when I tell them my Mustang is actually worse on gas than the H2, if I drive it good (it's supercharged) I can accumulate LESS than 200km before my tank is dry! Plus it drinks premium which the H2 does NOT!! But still, it's a weekend car for me so in the grand scheme of it, it doesn't cost TOO much money to put it on the road which is the same with the Hummer. I drive the Hummer when I feel like it and it's not a commuter for me, a few bucks for gas to put a big grin on my face... can't beat it!!
I always say... if it's good on gas it's probably BORING, so get in a gas guzzler and go have some fun!! Big trucks, fast cars... it's all good to me.....

I have explained to a friend that if I win the lottery, I am buying a Prius and gutting the Synergy drive and putting a 350 in it. I've even thought of putting a coal-fired steam engine in. Whatever I can do that is as polar opposite of what the Prius is as is possible.

Re: how far does it go
my buddy has 09 Ford dually f 350 twin cam tdi and his pig sucks avg 32L/100kms ( i am all about l per 100 kms) and its brutal for a new truck !
the best part of H1 is its not much the gas that brakes the wallet rather than maintenance/repairs and parts costs. diesel costs dont bother me much as from going premium gas costs on BMW X5 to diesel costs - the difference between premium and diesel price well offsets extra litres burned ! i drive 65-70 mi/hr and small tank lasts me 320kms on highway and large tank between 400 to 500 depending on speed i cruise.
i am more annoied with interior exessive noise/vibration than gas costs. but i still cant see myself driving some other truck - it would be downgrade for sure...
