So the day starts out excellent, truck is loaded and ready to head to Darcey's place to do some much needed tweaks to my truck, add a few electronics I have, and enjoy a day of working on the truck. Wanted to get some last minute, been sitting in my garage items finished before we head to Indiana.
Well, I get there and meet Darcy bright and early, and we start to discuss possible things we can do today. Just as Darcey is looking for places to tap in for the EGT and Boost, he notices there is "some" oil by the turbo, near the intake, under further investigation and checking the dip stick, he finds there is basically almost no oil in my engine.. I say...WTF?? so we conclude that it must be spilling into the turbo and burning it..so we decide to top up the engine with Oil, 6 liters later, it is full.. 3/4 empty what the heck is going on....and now when the truck starts or you punch the accelerator it blows Blue smoke..DAMN the Turbo is fried we figure out and it is leaking oil into it..lucky Darcey checked or I would be writing a story about how my engine blew on the way home because I had no oil...so the hunt is on for a New Turbo for my truck... just my luck...also while he was at it, he looked around a bit, and noticed the serpentine belt was fraying and the upper RAD hose was wearing almost through near the "dual alternator" bracket from rubbing and vibration.
Needless to say we accomplished nothing other then replacing my belt, had a spare on me, and Darcey did a MacGyver to the RAD hose for now until I get a replacement.
So I probably will order a new Turbo from AM General on Monday unless someone has a source local with a good price on a new or rebuilt one...
Let me know please..
p.s. I did make it back home, an hour drive but stopped and checked oil level a couple of times along the way....

Re: what a Friggin day
Different options, but I think I will stick with a AMG Turbo and also gonna change my CDR valve, cheaper option and could be a easy fix.Always something...
Also went to replace my Opera windows and realized they don't come with gaskets or weather stripping..so back in with the old...until I make a trip to crappy tire..

Re: what a Friggin day
BTW, I bought a new AMG Turbo, no time to screw around with rebuilds now, I want to the real McCoy and also all new seals, gaskets, O-Rings, etc... and also decided to replace CDR Value while I am there and the grommet and hose, even though there isn;t a ton of Oil in there, time to change it out to be safe...
