I still don't believe I did that!!!!!! Stupid, stupid, stupid!!!! And not even on video!!!

I just called around and found out that the main shaft is a dealer part.... not what I wanted to !@#$%^ hear.... I can't have this one rebuilt as the U-Joint end got chewed up so not worth the risk.

I made a post to see if anyone knows of a newer H2 at a wreckers otherwise I will order out of Montanna but it's usually cheaper to drive down there believe it or not....

Up until then though.... had a blast!! Thanks B-Man for helping with the field repair!! (doing it is more like it <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... lleyes.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />)...

I have the feeling this will be an expensive moment of cockiness.... U think it would have worn off after leading the group down the river bed (Dry!) trying to scoot by you... that was fun though actually!!!!

Guess I'll be dusting off my bike for awhile... good thing I work from home!

It was amazing to go down those twin trails and see the other Hummer flying alongside us a few feet away. Very cool. As for taking the wrong turn, even that was fun. Nothing was broken, and we got to explore even more trails. It's not about who gets out first - heck, if anything, it's who gets out last. (Barring breakdowns and mishaps.)

It was pretty obvious after getting under there that the Hummer unit is designed to be a permanent assembly and much different from the U-joints I've worked on in the past, which are basically C-clips holding pins in, and then the whole assembly comes apart.

Your truck bit me, too! I got my arm against the exhaust manifold while trying to get in there to twist the driveshaft around. Oops.

Hopefully things go well with the replacement part. I need to get down to Montana for some duty free one of these days. Seattle is this coming week though, which is why I was praying nothing broke this weekend. <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... iggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':D' />

Not home until 4:30 AM or so and I still woke up at 8:00 AM out of habit. D'oh.

Sounds like you guys had some fun today! Dave showboating... now why does that not surprise me <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... >/wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' /> Where did you end up going out there anyway?

Sidenote:

Dave, I am planning to head down to Kalispell to pick up a new range & hood for my kitchen when I get my truck back. I could try to pick up that part for you on the way.

The only hitch is I don't know how much longer it is going to take to get my truck finished up. I went down yesterday to slap a new registration sticker on it and see how far they were along... it wasn't there; they said it was out for paint. The fenders should be done and headed back there either Monday or Tuesday, the final problem is the clips for the fenders have not arrived yet from GM. I'd say they are at least another week if not two from finishing.

Yeah, stupid me - I crawled under today and I didn't see any other damage so I may get off lucky. I'm going to give Road Warrior a call tomorrow as I think the piece he has is exactly what I need. We'll see what the price is otherwise I'll see what the cost is in Montana - on GM Parts direct, the full thing is only $284 so not as bad as I thought.

Hopefully RW will Bargain on his as that with the other half off mine with new U-Joints, and boot kit will solve the problem and get me back on the road... Then I can pick up my new roof rack and get my new lights installed...
Live life like there is no tomorrow!! You never know what's around the next corner.....

Great time out there dudes... as always!! Too bad we didn't video that run up the hill Dave since let me tell you.. the bounce at the top was EPIC! But I'm sure you'll be back on the road in no time... After you made it up the first time, and on the way back down I have never seen someone at an angle like that!!!

Also for that prop shaft, I did spot on on eBay as well that is a used unit, throw on some new u-joints and you'd be good I'm thinking. Just one other option for getting parts... Here's the link.

Thanks again everyone, had a blast...

I've received photographs from Raphael and will attempt to post them tonight. High resolution versions are available if anyone wants them.

I'm hoping I've recovered financially from my vacation by the next event. I'd really like to go again. You guys were a blast.

Carl, I have NO idea how you broke your H2 in the past. <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... >/wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' /> You drive so patiently, with so much finesse. <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... >/wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' />

We got some awesome ones of you two. If it was warmer out, I think it would be a blast in that thing. Of course, I generally hate the cold, so...

Fortunately, I don't think I'm at the CSPAN stage of life yet. Though I do find myself taking longer to switch through it now... hmm.

Dudes c'mon.. best channels are 1) The Weather Network 2) CSPAN 3) Thanksgiving Turkey 4) Christmas Fire Log You can even get the Turkey and Fire Log on demand with Shaw when they are in season, so that's pretty great!! <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... ght_on.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':right_on:' /> <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... ght_on.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':right_on:' /> <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... ght_on.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':right_on:' />

JL, before I forget I need to grab that CV we went half-ers on from you. I will pay you out your half for it of course...

OR

GET 4 BRAND NEW STAUN DEFLATORS!

and that's not all, if you act now for a limited time you will get 1 free coffee and a free lunch!

But WAIT! That's STILL not all... you get a Hybrid "You save I use" decal and a hardy handshake! ...ok, it's not quite 100$ worth of stuff yet, how about another 20$ on top of it, lol.

In all seriousness though I will give you the 100$ unless you want the extra set of new un-opened Stauns I have kicking around now.

Oh and I still have 3 of those Hybrid decals left if anybody wants one.
