max speed on h1

Post by sentrex »

I am just wondering why the hwy speed on the h1 is low as not to drive past 65mph,is it the gearing in the diff's,

and what modifications could be done to make it faster on the hwy, when i purchase my h1 i will not be going off roading with it.

It will be a Sunday cruiser so 4x4 options not that important to me.

It's because on an H1, you have portal axles which double the torque at the wheels, plus it's geared very low. But the truth is, they are not at their best on highways; An H1 was designed to be used offroad and in extreme conditions! You will see that on highway speeds, the motor will probably run hot because the way the radiator is mounted on an angle (thus reducing direct air flow).

P.S. Take it offroad! Your H1 will love you for it!
