A gear swap eh? Sounds like fun, although I should probably leave it be for now until I get closer to the end of the warranty.

Well I can say that I do want the 35's  <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... >/grin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';D' />

I find the Highway power is really good with my truck contrary to some of the reviews I had read prior to buying; the only area that causes me a bit of concern is I found myself stalling out in mud holes and also going up steep embankments in high range.

I think for now I am going to go ahead with the leveling kit, I was also thinking about maybe just doing a 1" body lift to ensure everything clears the fenders if I do go with larger tires.

What kind of air filter did you pick up for yours Dave?

Just a quick note, if you are off-road you should be in LOW Range!!! This will make all the difference in the world when it comes to not straining the truck. Low Range will help your engine rev and get you thru, speed is good in mud but torque is WAY better.

Actually that is something 35's would help with, my low range is so low it barely moves the wheels.... sure I could probably climb anything I could get traction on, but with no forward momentum doing hill climbs or powering through bogs is impossible.

High range is just too high on the other hand, if I do get into situations where I need more torque but still require momentum I usually end up using 2nd or 3rd gear in low range.

The gear ratios are pretty good for high range on the highway and road, but mix it up with the low-range and it is just too low and 2nd is almost too high... the auto has a 1rst gear of 3.05:1, while the manual first gear is 3.75:1 and 2nd is 2.20:1.

$312.00 sounds more than fair!  Go for it!

When I was looking around I was in the $360 range best they could do.... I ended up going with the Procomps as National 4WD had the 4 for 3 sale so i couldn't pass that up.

The Toyo's have the sidewall lugs though, which are very nice and also help protect the tire.

The 35s will definitely help this and I guess I need to remember you also have a 4:1 low range not a 2:64:1 or 2.72:1 like the rest of us!!!

You will absolutely love the Toyos, I know I have a set of 37s! The side tread really does protect the sidewall and provide extra grip in weird traction, like sidewall only grip to pull you through and when you air down your contact patch gets much larger! And they are amazing in mud, awesome on rocks and quiet on the street...what more could you ask for!

Yeah whomever was designing it had rock crawling on the brain, it is ludicrously slow in 1st gear when dropping into low range. I tried using 4-Low on a trail run and I couldn't keep up!

I am just waiting for the leveling kit to arrive before I put an order in for the Toyo's

I ended up going with the Daystar 2" kit; it was about half the price and received good reviews.

Ouch... I hope it goes well.  I won't touch another Daystar product. I had a jeep liberty and wanted a bit extra ground clearance and was reccomended to the 2.5" Daystar spacer kit which I know is different from new torsion keys. Fine for about 6 months and than they started making noise which finally got so bad I had to either get rid of the jeep or pay to have them removed - I got a great deal on it through Davis Pontiac in Lethbridge on an 07 H3 3.7 which was awesome but ended up trading it for the Alpha later on. So I know from experience that their spacer kits are of very poor quality...

So far I have been extremely happy with the ready lift keys I put in..... Also - Go for the Samco Shackles as well! Well Worth it!

I'm with Dave on this one, you can't go wrong with a Ready-Lift kit, I have installed a couple and they are very well made. I looked at the daystar kit but what bothers me is that as strong as polyurethane can be it cannot deal with the torque loads of that a torsion bar and 35s can induce...Stick with Steel!!! Our factory ones don't make noise and they are steel so why go to Poly when it is not an issue!

And those Samco Shackles are some major beef that will definitely help to keep the rear of your 3 in place!

I am not a huge Daystar fan, but I noticed the kit on a few off-road web sites. So I did some more checking around and it seems like their torsion keys and everything seems to be pretty positive, from an engineering point of view I like that they chose a material that can deflect to help dampen impacts. Strength wise I am expecting they should hold up ok.

As for body lift spacers, I am more of a hockey puck kind of guy <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... /smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

Sugar look in entertainment how to muddy a hummer and traffic jam in the dpp both runs our H3 Alpha only change the front bumper and superlift leveling kit running on OEM standard  goodyear Wranglers. Results one engine compartment fully covered in mud. mud was sufficent to remove Derek's front plate on his H2.
